Long before his days of crafting championship rosters, Zito was a mere teenager working as a clubhouse attendant for the Milwaukee Brewers during their lone pennant-winning season.
As the Brewers geared up for their game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at American Family Field, they were greeted with a sight that few could have anticipated – the Stanley Cup, resting elegantly on a table in their clubhouse. It was a gesture that spoke volumes of Zito’s appreciation and respect for his time with the Brewers, as he fondly recalled, “In the hockey world, that’s sort of a gesture of appreciation and respect and thanks. I wanted to do that.”
